Founder of Prairie Bus Lines & Pacific Western Group of Companies
(1927 – 2012)

In 1957, Robert B. Colborne purchased Sorenson Bus Lines in Red Deer, Alberta and renamed it Prairie Bus Lines. Prairie Bus Lines became the founding company of the Pacific Western Group of Companies, which remains one of North Americas largest privately held transportation businesses. 

Prairie Bus Lines is the service provider of choice in central Alberta. We proudly serve the growing transportation needs of the City of Red Deer and its surrounding communities. Additionally, we can provide transportation services throughout Canada and the USA. 

Whether you require student transportation, charter services for your group, or industrial employee transportation to worksites, Prairie Bus Lines can accommodate your needs.  We are dedicated to safe, reliable, and courteous transportation service. Our equipment consists of a diverse fleet of school buses, motorcoaches, executive coaches, and mini-coaches.  We are also the official carrier of the WHL Red Deer Rebels hockey team!

Prairie Bus Lines training program is nationally recognized and certified by the Motor Carrier Passenger Council of Canada. We are proud to have maintained our Workplace Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR) since 2007.  Prairie Bus Lines has also been a member of the Partners in Compliance (PIC) since 2010. Our team of talented and skilled professionals will exceed your expectations.
